Often, people come to therapy looking for answers.
‘How can I change?’ ‘What do I do?’ ‘Why do I react this way?’ ‘Why do I feel this way?’
The answers to these questions are within you.
To figure out your answers to these questions, you have to feel your feelings. That often means discovering how those show up in your body and what they are telling you. Your brain’s job is to protect you, so when it is unsure of how to deal with something, or if it is too big to deal with, it will outsource it to other areas of your body until it is ready to deal with it. Discovering where you feel things and what triggers certain things to come up helps you to start healing so you can show up in your life the way you want to.
The therapy modalities I use help you learn to feel your feelings, locate them, and identify them so you can fully experience and process what you have stored away.
EMDR is a proven method for helping to heal trauma.
EMDR, when used in conjunction with CBT, DBT, and CPT, provides a variety of tools and methods so that you can find what works best for you.
I view my role as a therapist as giving you the tools and support you need to overcome the obstacles that have been keeping you stuck. I’m here to walk next to you as you discover your full range of emotions and process the obstacles that have been keeping you from having the life you really want.
